bStall is an online bulletin-board site where you can post anything you want. bStall is divided into many boards, or "stalls." There are no accounts here, but you may post with a "tripcode" if you would like. Just choose a board and start posting! Just make sure to read the rules first.
Simple. You don't! There is no account system and all imageboard posts eventually get deleted automatically after falling off page 10.
The closest thing to an account is a tripcode. To make a tripcode, type in a username, then a # symbol followed by a "password." Posting with the name "Tripcoder#123456" would make your post appear as Tripcoder!QkRJTXcpFI. Here's an example of it.
A secure tripcode is like a normal tripcode, but harder to crack. To make a secure tripcode, type in a username, then two ## symbols followed by a "password." Posting with the name "Secure Tripcoder##123456" would make your post appear as Secure Tripcoder!!da03fb5e56. Here's an example of it. Still, don't use the password that you use for every other site.
To quote a user, add the ">" character at the beginning of each line. This will make your text green.
To post a spoiler, you can do so with the "<s>" tag. For example, "<s>Spoiler Text</s>."
Nobody knows where the name came from. Some people do believe that bStall is named after bathrooms stalls, as many people have compared websites with little rules to the walls of a bathroom stall.
bStall uses a proprietary program called Sawtelle, which is a modified version of TinyIB, which in itself is a fork of Futallaby, which in itself again is a fork the Japanese BBS software Futaba, which the Japanese imageboard 2chan runs off.
I do. Though bStall is commonly misattributed to Remilia !bRemiliaZc, a trans woman that commonly posted during the very beginnings of bStall.
